Persiphone_Hellecat asked:
Kids asking what was Hester Prynne’s punishment in The Scarlet Letter? Kids in college asking how to find their GPA? Kids asking what kind of an excuse to use in a letter explaining their low grades in high school? Kids asking what is the growing season in Washington State? PLEASE tell me these are fake letters. Can kids today be so dumb? Is it too much time spent in chatrooms and playing Wii? Or is it something else? I pray for our future. It is in terrible peril. Do they not know the internet is a tremendous resource at their fingertips and that they can find out almost anything they want by “Googling it? Or do they just want someone else to give them the answers? I double majored in architecture and English Lit in college - 3.83 GPA - Summa Cum Laude on both. NEVER got below an A on a paper. Anyone want to buy some A papers? Can I get rich selling them? Wake up and smell the Starbucks my children. There are no simple ways to get through life. Start working.

dasf a asked: Okay, so I’m slightly worried about the war in Iraq, insane funding for it, debts to China, collapse of our economy, and a bunch of other crap I don’t fully comprehend.. How screwed are we (future generations)?
Are we to work longer hours, less pay, with crazy inflation? Or does it get worse?

Mr. Anonymous asked: This country has always been very near and dear to its citizens. However, its citizens have not been the best for it. America has always been the land of oppurtunity, freedom, liberty, justice, and wealth. As a citizen of this exquisite country I must ask about the future of our country and its reputation among the world. With everybody worried about minutes instead of hours, and hours instead of days, the tempo of society is hastening and I fear that our priorities are mixed up. Rather than worry about ourselves we’re worried about the Middle East, as if another Cold War is on our hands. Instead of worrying about the economy we’re worried about celebrities. And instead of eating healthy home cooked meals which secure the fabric of families and home life, we eat McDonalds, stay out to endless hours of the night working, and pay ridiculous taxes which only go to secure companies who practice faulty business practices at best. We aren’t getting the justice which we deserve from a government which has been oppressive, perhaps the most oppressive we’ve ever seen. With everything snowballing rapidly downwards our reputation as the saviors of the world has been tarnished into one of laziness and hatred. We hate others, yet embrace them to come to America; we hate immigrants, yet force them to work for us, and for cheaper than we would ever accept; we sit on our fat lazy asses and demand the government take care of us, yet we peach anti-communism like its our jobs; in short our morals, priorities, and standards have shifted from that of a great country to that of an arrogant country. What happened to the land of the free? What happened to roads paved with gold? What happened to our country?

rcs05002 asked: I would like to know if there are any positive things for the future of America, for example anything that our nation is making progress on, that will ensure our status as the world’s leading superpower. I get the feeling that we are a long road to decline and will collapse, much like the Soviet Union did in 1989. the gap between the rich and the poor is getting bigger, we have lots of uneducated people here, a major immigration crisis, a health insurance crisis in which we are just above the nation of Slovenia and ranked #36..a war which is draining our treasury and is not working, a massive massive debt, terrorist attacks. the list goes on an on. so…anything positive out there?

deesefyin asked: I am just hoping for a Democrat to be president, because all Mr. Bush is doing is leaving off what Herbert Hoover did (THE DEPRESSION)! And if there is another Republican takes control again, then I would believe 1). This country would riot, or 2). I would probably believe that this country would be WIPED OUT, turn into a desert, grasslands, back to the Stone Age!

blacksheep_hellishot asked: that’s the price tag that our glorious government is talking about here, to resurrect the world’s economy. my goodness it’s kind of funny, we outsource lots of good high-paying American jobs to China. and according to a recent report some Chinese company is poised to buy up millions of foreclosed homes that were once owned by the same people who lost her jobs by that outsourcing jazz.
golly only in America where the Japanese could bomb Pearl Harbor and a few decades later, own it lock, stock, and barrel.
